Retired Major Stanford Mauldin Swim left this earth on January 18th, 2014 in Coolidge, Arizona. Born in Marshall, Texas on March 24th, 1937, his parents were the late Stanford Swim and Margaret Lois Mauldin. Stan graduated from Fair Park High School in 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana and excelled in his twenty year career in the air force and won many medals, the highest being the airmen medal. He loved flying.
Stan is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Swim and proud daughters Carol Lynn Swim and Victoria Swim along with his ex-wife and friend Carol Shipman Ladeau, all from Colorado. Stan also leaves his sister Brenda Swim Williams and husband Tom Williams of Lake Bistineau, Louisiana, Minnette Swim McElhannon of Shreveport, Louisiana and Jennifer Swim Marah of Denver, Colorado along with numerous nieces and nephews in Louisiana and grandchildren in Arizona and Colorado and his beloved Uncle HS Mauldin of Hallsville, Texas.
In addition to flying, Stan loved the outdoors, fishing, cooking and gardening. His family will miss him dearly. Please send any correspondence to Jmarah@comcast.net.
