SHEREVEPORT, LA - Vivian McDaniel Canfield a longtime resident of Shreveport, LA entered the presence of the Lord on September 18, 2014 at the age of 92.
Services for Mrs. Canfield will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel with Dr. Chad Hardbarger and Bro. Harry Forester officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the funeral home.
The daughter of Buster and Grace McDaniel, Vivian was born on April 15, 1922 in Beaver, LA. She was a graduate of Pine Prairie High School and Beaumont Business College. While working as a secretary at Ft. Polk, LA during World War II, she met her future husband, Charles Keast Canfield. Charles and Vivian were married at the Camp Polk Chapel in 1942 and remained a life-long couple for 55 years. Vivian was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She is remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Vivian Canfield was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Keast Canfield, Sr.; sister, Evelyn McDaniel Crafts; grandson, Matthew Bruce Canfield; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Patterson Canfield. She is survived by sons, Charles Keast Canfield, Jr. and wife, Susie, Bruce Norman Canfield and wife, Betty, Brian Stephen Canfield and wife, Irene, and Mark Canfield and wife, Christy; grandchildren, Caroline Canfield Ourso and husband, Joey, Sarah Canfield Lowder and husband, Preston, Andrew Keast Canfield, Morgan Brook Canfield, Catherine Victoria Canfield, John Amon Canfield, and William Edward Canfield; great-grandchildren, Mary Ellen Lowder, Molly Elizabeth Lowder, and John Pierre Ourso.
Honoring Vivian as pallbearers will be Andrew Canfield, Joey Ourso, Preston Lowder, Douglas Frey, George Smith and Charles Shirley.
The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Pierre Blanchard and Renee Matheny at Montclair Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Emmanuel Baptist Church, Buncombe Road, Shreveport, LA.
