Funeral services for RICHARD SAM RAMSEY, 60, of Marshall, Texas, will be held at 10 am Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas. Rev. Carlton Burris and Rev. John Bayliss will officiate. Arrangements are by The Morgan Family Funeral Home of Marshall.

Mr. Ramsey died Tuesday afternoon, September 2, 2003 in Corsicana, Texas.

Born August 11, 1943 in Shreveport, he was the son of Richard Nesom Ramsey and Nellie June Pearce Ramsey. He was an electrical contractor and was a member of the IBEW #194 Local of Shreveport. He attended Shreveport and Woodlawn public schools and was also a Registered Nurse. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Survivors are wife, Tammie Ramsey of Marshall; children: Richard Perry Ramsey of Benton, LA, Juli Ramsey Schriner and Keith of Scottsville, Texas; step-children, Shawn Stephens of Pasadena, Texas, Jonathan Stephens of Ft. Bragg, Mary Ann Stephens of Garland, Texas, Tommy Stephens of Marshall, Texas, Katie Mitchell and Keith of Marshall, Texas; step-grandchildren, Kirsten Mitchell and Keaton Mitchell, both of Marshall, Texas; sister, Mary Anne Bush of Winston, SC; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
