
Born in Texarkana, Arkansas, Carol was the daughter of the late J.M. Stockton and Irene Parker Stockton. She moved to Shreveport, Louisiana as a child where she would meet and later marry her childhood sweetheart, Eugene.
Carol was a devoted wife and mother as well as a talented seamstress, quilter and artist. She studied art at Louisiana Tech University before marriage. Carol used her creative talents in many ways, from charitable donations of wedding cakes or other handmade items to designing clothes. She resided in Greer, SC, for 26 years and had her own seamstress business supporting interior decorators before retiring in her 50s.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Eugene E. Blake; her daughter, Andrea Blake, of Greenville, SC; her son, Jason Blake, and his wife, Grace Anne, of Shreveport, LA; her mother, Irene Stockton of Greer; two grandchildren; and Sam (the cat). She was preceded in death by her son, Nathan Blake.
A casual gathering of family and friends will be held 4:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at The Wood Mortuary.
