Family and Friends,
It's been a week since my right knee replacement surgery. Let's just say I am a thousand percent better than last Monday!
It was indeed a wise choice for me to come to the rehab facility for intense PT. Had I opted for out-patient, I would have received work 1 hour a day for 3 days a week. Here I get 3-4 one hour sessions per day. It's not fun but not really so bad considering the seriousness of the surgery. The doctor here said I had a 1/3 amputation! That's a really graphic way to put it.
I do rely on the pain meds to keep me in a fairly comfortable state. Because my left leg also needs a replacement, I have to rest during PT because that leg cannot support me the whole time. When I get the left one done, it should be easier since my right leg will be good and do the support. I don't expect the left leg to be done before next year some time.
This is all I can report for now. Do not know when the doctor will recommend that I leave here. There will be a limitation on time imposed by Medicare.
Love to you all,
Mary Lynn
