HAUGHTON, LA –Jack W. Fulmer, 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at home with his family. He was born on July 9, 1935 in Kingsland, AR. He joined the Air Force in February of 1955 and spent 12 years serving his country. He spent time in England, California and served in Vietnam at Tun Suunto Air Base in Saigon from 1965 – 1966. He left the Air Force in 1968 after his time at Homestead Air Base in Florida. He was awarded several Honors and Medals for his service.
Jack worked in the Mobile Home Industry for many years, owning our own Mobile Home Business in Iowa; then here in Bossier, Value Mobile Homes and retiring after working for Joe Tilley’s Bossier Mobile Homes, then Gregg Tilley’s Bossier Mobile Homes.
Jack Fulmer was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. J.D. (Willie) Stubblefield of Shreveport, LA and Buster B. Fulmer of Fordyce, AR.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Virginia M. Fulmer, three children; son, Kenneth Fulmer of Haughton, LA: daughter, Debbie and husband Chad and grandchildren, Alexis and Austin, of Edmond, OK; son, Buck Anderson and wife Avah and grandchildren, Adam and Anna of Cleveland, TX; cousins Anna Sue Southern and husband Virgil, Linda Wolken and husband Jim, Billy Joe Akins and wife Marlene, and George Akins and wife Muriel.
A Memorial honoring the Life of Jack Fulmer will be held at 2:00 p.m.on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Hwy 80 in Haughton, LA. The Honor Guard ceremony will be held immediately following at the Mausoleum behind the funeral home. Refreshments will be served before the Memorial Service for visiting and mingling.
Jack was a "Street Rod" enthusiast and loved woodworking. He made several great pieces that ar! e cherished.
