David Evans McRee, FPHS 1961, died peacefully at 11:05 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2015, at Accel at Hermann Park care home in Houston, TX.

His wife, Felicia, was at his bedside.

David would have been 72 years old in May.

David underwent open-heart surgery at Methodist Hospital in Houston on Sept. 25, 2014. There were post-surgery complications, and David did not go home until Oct. 13. He was re-hospitalized on Oct. 18. He went into a coma January 24 and did not recover.

David's four children were able to go to his bedside to say good-bye. His long-time friend of 60 years, FPHS classmate Bucky Allen of Bozeman, Montana, was able to say good-bye using a speaker-phone the evening of January 25.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced as of Jan. 31, 2015.
