Update From Mary Lynn Tuminello Johnson

Late last year Mary Lynn shared her experience with breast surgery. Last Friday she took the next step.

Friends,

Today, Friday, May 25, I went in for breast augmentation. This means I got my permanent implants. I had an old one from 1995 when I had my first cancer scare.  Then I got an expander last November when I had my second scare. Fortunately, both scares turned out okay for me. I got my Dolly Partons except my two probably equal one-half of one of hers!

Everything went well. Took an hour and a half. Surgery was at 7:30 am and I got to go home around 10 am. Very little pain. I took one pain pill since coming home because the nurse said I should. I may not take any more. I feel more sore on the right side and no pain on the left. More work was done on the right side. I am bound fairly tightly in a compression bandage. I will be able to shower on Sunday. I’m not too dirty since they had me to take two baths with special bacteria fighting soap before the surgery. The really good news for me is that I do not have a drain from the right side. The doctor said that was a possibility. Without that, I really feel free.

A short while ago I asked Phillip to dance with me. I felt like it. He, however, did not! Spoil sport.

I rested for most of the afternoon, drifting in and out of sleep, but am up and at ‘em now. I know to take it easy for a few days and I will, sort of.

Just wanted to inform you and let you know that all is well.

Love,
Mary Lynn
