The second egg in this year’s nesting efforts by the Decorah eagles was laid at 9:06 PM CST Monday, Feb 20th. The female (understandably) took the rest of the night off and the male eagle took over nesting duties. The Decorah area had snow overnight that left a fair amount in the nest. However, its a little above freezing there this morning so the snow should melt fairly soon. When I checked the web site this morning the male was stretching his legs and below him in clear view were the two eggs. The “experts” are predicting at least one more egg will be laid within a week or so.
