Music Link Problem

I recently learned why left clicking on the Music link in the class web site no longer works. Google addresses this issue (briefly) in one of their YouTube technical issues pages.

This content (YouTube video) cannot be displayed in a frame. To help protect the security of information you enter into this web site, the publisher of this content does not allow it to be displayed in a frame.

What you can try:
Open this content in a new window

Google’s message means they no longer allow YouTube videos to be opened directly into web sites that use the frames process. On our class web site the Fair Park banner and navigation bar is Frame 1. Frame 2 is the various other content that appears below Frame 1.

To follow Google’s advice to open the content in a new window you can (1) right click on the Music link and select Open Link in a new tab, or (2) press and hold the Ctrl key and left click on the Music link. While both ways work, Number 2 seems to be the easiest for me. See which you like best.

If you have any questions drop me a note.

Email Directory and Music Matters

Have you been to the Class Email Directory page of the web site lately? If so, you may have noticed some subtle changes in the design of the form used for the Directory. In the right margin you will notice the alphabetic letters that show you where you are in the Directory. Those letters change as you scroll in the directory. That feature lets you move rapidly to the section of the Directory with the name you are looking for. Give it a try if you haven’t done so already.

Web site statistics show that lots of folks are reading the blog article on accessing the music available on the web site. I have moved the music link to the 3rd position in from the left to make it a little easier to spot when you first fire up the web site.

Also, remember that the Music Link is intended to be activated by right clicking the link. Lately, I have noticed that left clicking the Music link does not produce any response. Right clicking still works like it is supposed to. If the left click works for you please let me know about it.

I’ve also noticed that some of the YouTube music videos are starting to include short advertisements. Nothing we can easily do about that. If it gets bad we may have to redesign, or eliminate, any background music for the web site. But we’ll cross that bridge when we have to. For now, its tolerable.

Request From Betty Molcany Barber

Betty Molcany Barber has requested help from any others who may have info on the death of classmate Virginia Ferguson Flavin. If you can help please get in contact with Betty.

_______________________________

Classmates we need your help verifying information about Virginia Ferguson Flavin. We were told that she died in 2006. However, several people have searched numerous web sites including the Social Security Death Index with no luck. Her brother told a classmate about her death, but he nor the classmate  gave us what we need to verify her date of death. Without verification we cannot put her picture on the Memorial Board.

Time for the reunion is drawing closer so if you know anything about Virginia, please contact us. Thanks!

Betty

Death Of Lionel Wright’s Wife

I received the following note from classmate Lionel Wright concerning his wife Victoria White, Fair Park Class of 1962. Please keep Lionel and his whole family in your prayers.

__________________________

I'm very sad to inform you, that my loving wife of 45 years, Victoria, passed away last night in her sleep.  Recently, she was suffering from pneumonia, along with her other health problems.  She apparently passed peacefully, as she appeared to be asleep when I went to check on her this morning.

No arrangements have been made as of this time.
