Mary was born April 27, 1917 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Bertha Collins and Dudley Lee Campbell. She married Geron Clayton Cromer, September 4, 1937 in Clovis, NM. They moved to Shreveport in 1939.
Mary and Clayton were members of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Shreveport. Mary served in many capacities with her church, but her favorite was in Sunday School where she taught the younger children for many years. Former students made it a point when they came home to see one of their "Favorite" teachers, Mrs. Mary. Her kind and generous spirit carried through many facets of her life. She found her niche in the business world as a sales lady for Selber Bros. Department Store for over 30 years, where she achieved several awards including top sales associate. Through her honesty and outgoing nature, Mary made many friends in the Shreveport area.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clayton and her grandson, Morgan Geron Walker and half-brother, Melvin Frontroy. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Cromer Walker of Shreveport; granddaughters, Suzanne Walker Tomlin of Haughton, LA and Jennifer Walker Dominquez and husband, Marc of Lone Tree, CO; and great-granddaughters, Kristal Darlene Tomlin of Haughton, LA and Annalise Sophia Dominguez of Lone Tree, CO; a brother, Charles Campbell of Ft. Worth, TX; two half-sisters, Beverly Reeves and Lynda Jopling both of Burleson, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Live Oak Nursing Home for the wonderful care and concern through the years.
