UPDATED: Caddo school board quietly receives master plan feedback. No public comments allowed today.
From Staff Reports
Caddo School Board members this afternoon officially received the results from community surveys on Superintendent Gerald Dawkins' proposed $700 million master plan.
But accepting printed documents was about as exciting as it got. Board members offered few comments, other than reminders that nothing is set in stone. “Tonight, board members, we are strictly receiving the information that was gathered at each meeting," panel President Lillian Priest said. Public comments were not allowed. Those have already been collected, Priest said.
Nothing should be a surprise. In recent weeks, parents, alumni and neighborhood groups have vocally expressed their thoughts on Vision 2020. Much was displeasure. The plan would close, merge and build schools.
