SOUTHAVEN, MS - Graveside services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lois Ware Malenky, 84, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Lois was born September 20, 1925, and entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2010. She was of the Baptist faith and had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church and in later years, a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Her late husband, August "Gus" Malenky, served in the U.S. Air Force and enabled them to travel extensively around the world, but Shreveport was always home.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her son, Mike Malenky and wife, Joyce, who was also Lois' special care taker; sister, Martha Ware Gordon; half-sister, Frances Ware; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and one very special niece, Jeanette Owens.
