Janice Salley Chance called me today. What a lovely Christmas surprise! She is at a local nursing home and sounds better and even laughed a little. Janice has COPD and has been very ill lately. Please keep her in your prayers. (Helen has a telephone number for Janice if you'd like to phone her.)

Mr. Hugh Daniel Slagle, the Father of classmate James Slagle, passed away on December 9, 2008. I am now out of my wheelchair and walking on my own, but I keep my walker in my car at all times in case I have to walk a long distance. Having both knees replaced is no fun.
