Betty McComic

Betty just had surgery on both of her eyes. The first surgery was a week ago and she did so good. The second surgery also went well and she is now seeing almost perfectly. She said Joe took the glass out of one side of her glasses after the first surgery and she could see very good so after this second surgery heals she will be so pretty without any glasses. Right Betty? Just be patient with the healing process. Take Care! And keep us posted on your recovery.

Joe Festervan

Joe Festervan reports that he is doing ok after his week of treatment at the Willis Knighton Cancer Unit. Just a few more treatments and he's through for the time being with the treatments. Hang in there Joe, you are in our thoughts and prayers daily. God Bless!

L. C. Anderson

L. C. Anderson reports that after having surgery last month he is feeling so much better and every day he is getting stronger. L. C. you and Clara are in our prayers daily for a successful recovery.

Update 2 For Carol Ann Hawkins Deshotels

Received a note from Carol Ann Hawkins Deshotels that she has just arrived back to her home in Kaplan, La. after her surgery on Sept. 11th. She said it is so good to sit on her porch again and that she does feel fairly good. She still has to wear a garment around her until she goes back to the Dr. in two weeks for her checkup. That's when she and the Dr. will do their "tweeking" and see what treatment is best for her. Carol glad to hear you are doing so well and please keep up the healing as you are surely in our thoughts and prayers daily.

Bill Roberts

Bill Roberts reports he and a group of his Harley Riders from Jacksonville, Fl. (H.O.G.) rode their Harleys to Andersonville National Cemetery, in Ga. for the National POW/MIA Recognition Day, 250 miles, one way. It was a four day event, sponsored by the Rolling Thunder of Ga./Fl. and about 40 from the Jax.,Fl. group went to the event and then went to the Andersonville Cemetery, and the Prisoner of War Museum. When the event was over around noon time they then drove to Plains, Ga. and former Pres. Jimmy Carter was in town to sign a book...they only missed him by about 20 min. They drove back to Fl. Sun. and Bill said it was a very good trip. This coming weekend they have a trip planned to go from Sun Up on the Atlantic Ocean and be on the Gulf of Mexico by Sun Set. that same day and then "Party"... Bill thanks for taking us on all these trips with you...How much fun are you having?

Update 1 For Carol Ann Hawkins Deshotels

Just received an update from Patricia Osborne Booton on Carol Ann Hawkins Deshotels who had major surgery on 9-11. Trish reports that she spoke to Carol Ann and she seems in good spirits following this major surgery. She said that Carol Ann's husband Henri and their two daughters have really been a great support and comfort for Carol. She is in Mandeville, LA now (that address was given earlier for you to send cards), but hopes to return to her home in Kaplan, LA maybe as early as next week. Trish also said that Carol Ann is very appreciative of every one's prayers and to please continue with them for her recovery. Thanks for the update Trish and let Carol Ann know we are all still praying for her daily.

Update 1 For Linda McDaniel McVay's Brother

This is an update on Linda McDaniel McVay’s brother who had brain surgery this past week. Linda reports he is doing well after such a hard surgery and is just waiting now for the other lab reports to come back so the doctor will know how much and what kind of chemo and radiation will be needed. Linda feels very confident about the results. That's good news Linda as you and your brother are in our prayers.

Linda McDaniel McVay's Brother

Linda McDaniel McVay has ask that every one keep her Brother in their prayers now and in the future. He just had surgery and the Cancer was malignant in his brain. They removed all they could and will treat the remaining part with radiation and chemo. He is doing as well as can be expected after such a difficult surgery. Bill Roberts

Bill Roberts reports he left last Thursday from Jax., Florida with 18 Harley riders to go to the Ga. State H.O.G. Rally in Macon, Ga. For the non Harley people the term is Harley Owner's Group Rally. While there they got to tour The Museum of Aviation, this was a 52 acres of everything in the air. They also went to the
town that the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" was filmed in Juliette, Ga. and they got to visit the real "Whistle Stop Cafe". They had lunch at Yoders Mennonite restaurant in Montezuma, Ga. where only fresh grown food is served , nothing that is processed and Bill said it was very good. They had a pool party at the motel Friday Night and Sat. night and left Sun around 6:30 heading back to Jax, Florida and was home by 11:30. What a fun time this trip was for Bill. Keep us posted Bill, all this sounds like so much fun.

Mary Butler Dunn

Mary Carolyn Butler Dunn's husband Harold had major surgery a few weeks ago and Mary reports that Harold is doing good after that hard surgery. Their Daughter and her husband came to stay with them during this time and Mary said she hated to see them leave when they finally had to go. That sweet daughter of theirs always puts a smile on Harold and Mary's face....Good medicine too for Harold. You are in our thoughts and prayers Harold...Keep up the good work on the recovery....

Update 1 On Don Chandler

Don Chandler had major neck surgery a few weeks ago and Shirley reports that he is doing good. That was a scary surgery but being the Gentlemen Don is he is trying real hard to get well quickly... Our thoughts and prayers are with you Don...keep up the good work on the recovery...

Update 4 on Kay Burford Murphy's Daughter Gayle

This is the latest update on Kay Burford Murphy's daughter Gayle that went through major surgery only weeks ago. Kay reports that Gayle is doing fine. She will go this week to get the stitches out , undergo cognitive testing, and have an MRI...so her week will be busy...The MRI will show what is left of the tumor and other cancer areas. She is looking forward to a good shampoo of her hair when the stitches come out. When all of this is completed Gayle will be told when to start the Chemo-therapy.
