June was a very busy month. Lots of emails went back and forth about topics mostly related to the reunion. One outcome of all this effort is that progress was made in updating home and email addresses. Still, lots more is needed. There are still far too many names for which we have “No Address Available.”
Camilla has been on a trip so I won’t have an update on the number of reunion signups until after she returns on July 8th. As soon as she sends me something I’ll add it to the blog page of the website.
Several classmates have volunteered to make telephone calls to encourage other classmates to consider attending the reunion. If you have thought about doing that, it’s not too late. If you have some time you qualify to volunteer <smile>. I’ll send you a list of names of classmates that are in your area code, or if you have unlimited calling service we can include other area codes. Let me know.
Thanks to Jean Lyons Jackson for emailing to ask whether there would be a new classmate directory prepared for the upcoming reunion. Jean’s inquiry has resulted in the creation of a new directory that will now be updated quarterly rather than for each reunion. This directory will have email, phone and home address info and will be electronically searchable. The email addresses will be hypertext linked so you can send an email to a person just by clicking on their email address. To err on the side of caution concerning this personal information, the directory will not be available online. Beginning July 1, 2006, it will be distributed quarterly to classmates on our email list. I also plan to bring some floppy disks containing the directory file to the reunion to pass along to any classmates who aren’t on our email list. However, to get regular updates they will need to be on our email list, or know someone who is. If you live near another classmate who doesn’t have email consider sharing a copy of your directory, or at least doing address lookups the other classmate is interested in knowing.
If you haven’t yet notified Camilla that you will be attending the reunion that needs to be done soon. Also, July 17 is the date to make any reservations you need at the Holiday Inn. Be sure and check the Blog page regularly during July for the latest info on the reunion.
That’s it for now. Hope your July 4th is a day of special meaning for the blessings of liberty that we enjoy.
