Mrs. FRANCES B. TOUPS passed away suddenly on Friday, September 2, 2005. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Thursday, September 8th from 6 until 8 p.m. followed by a vigil service at 8 p.m. in the chapel. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2005 at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans. Celebrating the mass will be Monsignor Earl Provenza of Mary Queen of Peace and concelebrant will be Father Richard J. Lombard of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery.
Mrs. Toups was a native of Louisiana and resident of Shreveport, LA. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a faithful member of the Adoration Prayer group at St. Joseph's. She was also a minister of care and co-coordinator of the A. A. Group which met regularly at St. Joseph's.
Everyone that met Mrs. Toups had wonderful things to say about her. She was loved and respected by all that knew her, and admired by those that she helped. She gave endlessly of herself and overcame the trials and challenges that life put in front of her. Mrs. Toups was at peace with herself and with the Lord.
Mrs. Toups was preceded in death by her parents Burl and Ruby Little; and her grandmother, Dovie Little. She is survived by her children, whom she taught to live life through God. Her daughter, Rolanda Toups; step-daughter, Amy Toups Detwiler; sons, Don Hemperley and wife, Kathy, Phillip Toups and fiancee, Shannon Ward, Tracy Toups and fiancee, Jennifer Rogers; and Roland Toups; father of her children, Roland P. Toups, Sr.; grandsons, Chase and Hayden Hemperley; and sister Molly Brown and husband, Ronnie.
Pallbearers will be Don Hemperley, Phillip Toups, Tracy Toups, Roland Toups, Jeff Free and Josh Free.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to her loved ones that gave her so much support and love throughout her life.
