JIMMY FRED CLAY began his greatest journey Tuesday, January 25, 2005. Jim was born March 17, 1943 in the Jenkins Community of Morris County, Texas and lived most of his life in Blanchard, Louisiana. Memorial services will be held at Church of Christ North in Shreveport, Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 6:30 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Clay, his daughter, Christy and son-in-law Wesley Turner, five dearly loved grandchildren: Chelsie, Destiny, "Bubba-Joseph," Ashton and MacKenna, two dear nieces, Laura and Christina Pack, siblings George Ernest Clay, Syble Ann Eames and Betty Hagood and many dear relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his birth parents, Willie Clay and Alma Lee Payne Clay, adoptive parents, Johnny and Evelyn Clay and siblings Cathy Pack, Ruby Hensley, Charles Clay and J. W. Clay.

He was a member of Church of Christ North in Shreveport, served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and was a machinist in the manufacturing industry for 25 years. He was also a poet, loved books, nature and the outdoors, and his hobbies of flint knapping, gun smithing and shooting. Whether he answered to "Jim-Bear," "Honey-Bear," "Poppa-Bear," "Uncle Jim," "Little Brother" or "Grampy" all knew him as loving, generous and loyal. He never missed an opportunity to say, "I love you" to his dear ones.
